Opened in 1964, Galeries Lafayette Lyon-Bron are undergoing a major transformation under the direction of the Moatti & Rivière agency. This ambitious project aims to transform the site into an open, friendly place, with modernized spaces featuring shops, local services, culture and leisure. Conceived as a genuine town center, this new space will respond to changing lifestyles and consumer habits. The shopping center already houses the new Galeries Lafayette store, as well as a silo parking lot and a rooftop parking lot. Designed to encourage multiple uses, this hyper-connected, accessible site will serve as a key landmark in eastern Lyon, an area with growing potential.
“The image of the project is a snapshot that carries an idea of the future, it’s a kind of ‘iconic’ image, which determines my requirement to deliver on the promise of the future it contains.”
